The Florida State University WISE (Women in IT/ICT Sharing Experiences) organization is a student group that is helping students to connect on campus. The WISE organization is focused on coordinating professional events, providing leadership opportunities, and offering networking chances for students in the Information Technology (IT) and the Information, Communication, and Technology (ICT) degrees. The WISE organization was founded by the STARS Alliance at the beginning of 2009 at the College of Communication and Information. Since its founding in 2009, the WISE organization has helped women to connect with peers and build a network of people to help them through and beyond the college experience by providing a nurturing environment to develop the skills, resources, and connections that you will need to succeed as a professional in the workplace and beyond.
Due to the ongoing worldwide pandemic, 2021 has been a difficult year for many of us. Now that we can finally start getting back together, what’s a better way to back into the swing of things than to connect with the WISE organization community and to begin to develop your skills as a professional? For those looking to network and learn a new skill, an upcoming WISE event is the Adobe Illustrator Workshop, which will be held on Tuesday, October 26th. This event will focus on brushing up your Adobe skills or maybe teaching you something new with a Halloween-themed Adobe Illustrator workshop.
