As of 2020, only 5% of Florida State University students major in the College of Communication and Information (https://ir.fsu.edu/facts.aspx). Despite this small percentage, Communication and Information is a valuable major to pursue. There are many different career options individuals majoring in this college can achieve, and there are a lot of prestigious employers seeking graduates that have the skills obtained with these degrees. Additionally, there are numerous clubs and organizations within this area of study. There, like-minded individuals can meet and connect with others in their future career field. They can also hear guest alumni speakers and other successful members of the workforce talk about their experiences.

One example of an upcoming event hosted by the College of Communication and Information is THT + Coded Wix Workshop. THT, or Transfers Helping Transfers, is a student-run organization where they provide opportunities for students to meet other students from different colleges than their own by organizing various events and activities. This workshop is focused on teaching students the basics in creating professional online presences using websites such as Wix and LinkedIn. These skills will help students to create resumes and learn basic HTML code. The event will be October 7th from 6:30-7:30 in the Innovation Hub Pitch Room (112), and is additionally offered online through Zoom. They request that any in-person attendees bring a laptop in order to access the online resources provided during the event.
